This family pottery in the Tuscan Hills near Siena has passed through at least 4 generations, and Maurizio and Raffaella Benocci are passionate about their Italian heritage.

Their range of designs is vast, with archives and moulds going over a century. Catriona McLean first visited the pottery many years ago and their classic Italian designs remain firm favourites.

All the pottery is artisan, made by hand, using traditional methods and firing. The terracotta is washed down after firing to remove all impurities and the colour is exceptionally soft and classic red terracotta – not too harsh or too dark.

Benocci designs are always pure in line and form, with careful & elegant detailed decorative mouldings, expertly applied with great precision and care.
