| These Art Deco vases are extremely well made by hand using the rope " à la corde" method, where the terracitta clay is laid on by hand onto awooden frame work with rope cord wrapped around to create the shape if the vase. Once the clay is dry, the rope and wood frame are removed from the inside of the vase, leaving the vase in its perfect symmetrical shape. It is then glazed and fired. These vases are frost resistant if looked after and planted correctly. |
| The terracotta clay for these vases comes from the pottery's own resources from the hills behind the pottery and is extremely frost resistant. However we always caution our buyers to look after and protect their vases in extreme conditions. Large shrubs and trees shoud always have their roots trimmed every few years or so, to release pressure from within. Always place a good quantity of gravel or stones at the base of the vases to help drainage. |
